Melanie Venter-Roit

Melanie is the founder and principal of Venter PR, a strategic communications and marketing consultancy that helps purpose-driven companies and nonprofits grow their influence through brand development, strategic storytelling, and earned and paid media.

With over 20 years of experience in communications and marketing, Melanie has led campaigns across climate tech, agtech, biotech, sustainability, public health, and social equity — supporting organizations at every stage, from Fortune 500s and startups to mission-driven nonprofits.

Her work includes major launches such as the world’s first plant-based wetsuit (Yulex/Patagonia), ExxonMobil’s largest clean energy R&D investment (Synthetic Genomics), and groundbreaking biotech announcements like the first synthetic bacterial genome. She has also led strategic communications efforts for organizations including Father Joe’s Villages, the J. Craig Venter Institute, and Scripps Research.

Known for her creativity and collaborative approach, Melanie continues to help visionary leaders connect their message to the moment — building trust, visibility, and momentum where it matters most.

She holds a degree in Communications from the University of California, San Diego.
